Is counseling right for me?
Some people start out apprehensive about counseling. That is a normal experience for those who have never sought out therapy. People may also be hesitant if they have tried counseling but had a negative or unfulfilling experience. Often our clients with similar apprehension later tell us they are glad they gave counseling a chance. That’s our goal!
We really don’t know if something is right for us until we try it. Here are some indicators that counseling might be a good fit for you:
- You believe something needs to change but you aren’t sure where to start
- You feel overwhelmed and stuck
- You are not feeling like your self
- You continue to talk with family and friends about your situation, but you aren’t sure they “get it”
- You wonder if others around you are feeling burdened or tired of hearing you express the challenges you’re facing
- You find yourself more emotional than usual
Clients seek counseling for all different issues. We understand your situation is personal and important. It is important to us as well. We strive to meet our clients where they are and feel honored to walk with them through their journey.
“Courage doesn’t happen when you have all the answers. It happens when you are ready to face the questions you have been avoiding your whole life.”
