Depression rarely arrives with a loud announcement. More often, it shows up as a slow dimming — less energy, less interest in the things that used to bring you joy, a heaviness that is hard to put into words. Whether what you are carrying feels like a long, quiet sadness or a sharper ache that has begun to feel like the new normal, we want you to know this: you are not broken. You are bravely reaching toward something different, and that is already a beginning.
In sessions, we walk alongside you as you make sense of where depression is showing up and what it is asking for your attention. Together we look at patterns of thought, the weight of past wounds, current relationships, sleep, the body, meaning, and the small daily rhythms that either drain or restore you. Common areas we work with include:
- persistent sadness, emptiness, or numbness
- low energy and loss of motivation
- changes in sleep, appetite, or focus
- harsh self-talk, hopelessness, or shame
- grief and unprocessed loss
- seasonal or postpartum depression
- depression connected to life transitions, anxiety, or trauma
There is no version of depression too small to be worth attending to, and no version too heavy to carry into a session. We would be happy to walk through it with you. Step by step, you and your counselor will build a clearer picture of what is happening, what would help, and what a fuller life can look like from here.
